Together, we can

make a world free from poverty and hunger
“You don’t just have to dream. You have to dream and walk towards your dream. By meeting people from different countries around the world, I’m learning new cultures, people are learning from me. And I, and I’m sure, together, when we put our forces together, when we put our strengths together, we can achieve a world zero hunger. This is what I believe in, and this is what drives me a lot.”

Tidiane Bangoura (MA)

International Public Relations

Tidiane’s journey from his native Republic of Guinea in West Africa to Cardiff reflects a deep commitment to making a difference on a global scale. He came here to expand his knowledge and communication skills, choosing a Masters course in International Public Relations to do so.

He hopes to amplify the voices of those in need, using his education to strengthen his work in humanitarian communication. In Tidiane’s field, it’s so important to be able to connect with people from all over the world – and at Cardiff he’s given a brilliant platform to meet people from diverse backgrounds, to learn from them, and to share his experiences.

There’s a saying in his homeland: ‘An empty bag cannot stand.’ To Tidiane, this means that without substance, without knowledge, you can’t create meaningful change.

Tidiane is excited to return to his work with the World Food Program, where he will bring back new insights and skills to help tackle food insecurity. He believes that with collective effort, ending food hunger is achievable – and we think he’s right.
